Sheri Roloff - Guitar, Piano, Lead Vocals

Sheri Roloff has been writing songs in her mind since as early as she can remember.  As a little kid playing on the swing set she would sing random made-up melodies for hours on end.  Sheri is a classically trained piano player and took lessons from age 7-15.  Unable to fully apply herself to the classical sonatinas and minuets...she took up guitar at age 15 for the sole purpose of writing music.  After learning only three chords Sheri wrote some fairly crappy song that for some reason convinced her she should continue writing.  While perfecting her craft as a solo act she recorded a now extraordinarily hard to find CD called "Interlude: (the space between)" in 2004.  Sheri soon grew bored of playing alone and eventually formed the band Sheri Roloff & The Capones in 2005.   The band went into the studio to create their first official studio release "Human Aquarium" and released it under the new band name Mercury Crossing at their Summerfest debut in 2006.   Between the release of "Human Aquarium" and Mercury Crossing's Sophomore release "Social Graces Set Aside" a lot changed in the direction of Sheri's music and writing style.  Leaning more towards the rock side now, Sheri primarily plays electric guitar and the group

has more of a power-trio feel.  Sheri attributes her writing

and playing style to the likes of PJ Harvey, Alanis

Morisette and Stone Temple Pilots, among others.

    Owen Strombeck - Drums

Growing up in Rockton, IL, Owen started playing drums at the age of 10, and is entirely self-taught from listening to, watching, and playing along with other bands.  He is now living in Milwaukee, WI, and attending the Milwaukee School of Engineering for Computer Engineering.  Owen's drumming style is influenced by some of his favorite groups (or specific drummers) such as Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy.  Owen's professional career began in Rockton, IL with the group "Duct Tape" (named such because of the "decorative" accents of duct tape on every piece of his first drum set) - an oldies/classic rock cover band which played songs such as Proud Mary, Pinball Wizard, and Fortunate Son.  Owen's next musical endeavor was with the Rockford, IL based metal group Retina, which allowed him to develop a progressive rock style drumming.  Since moving to Milwaukee, Owen has played with and filled in with a variety of groups.  Owen feels that he can help define Mercury Crossing with his personal style and experience.

    Kevin Keuler - Bass

Kevin grew up on a small farm outside Chilton WI.  Totally unexpectedly, especially to him, Kevin found a very intense passion for music at age 15.  He picked up his first squire bass pack, and totally fell in love with the instrument. Kevin tried starting a band with friends around school but it never really grew to anything. Finally he met Tony Webber, a guitarist 3 years his senior that tutored him and played with him, although they had always wanted to form a band together, its hard to find more talent in a small community.  Kevin finally went off to MSOE where he joined a short-lived band called Absinth Affect.  Kevin had the opportunity to play with Owen Strombeck when Owen filled in for the group on a studio date their regular drummer was unable to make.  Since then Kevin quit college, and has been playing in local arrangements, but still had no success in finding a band that fit him.  A die hard fan of Led Zeppelin, he also draws a heavy influence from more recent bands such as Interpol, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and The Rapture. Kevin is glad to have the opportunity to play with Mercury Crossing, and hopes to rock your faces off adequately!
