What's the difference between an acoustic-electric violin and an acoustic violin with a pick up?
So there's controls on the side of the acoustic-electric violin? but what's the sound difference between the two, and what would you suggest for someone who wants acoustic and electric.
i've played violin for 12 years, and i don't want to seem like I'm an expert with acoustic electrics, because I'm really not, but I think that maybe (just a guess) an acoustic electric sounds better plugged in than an acoustic violin with a pick up. But it always depends on the quality of the pick up as well. If it's a good pick up, get an acoustic and add the pick up, if its a good acoustic-electric, get that. I think the best thing you can do is to try out both at a music shop or something like that and choose which you like best. and then try an electric violin too. those are cool
